Antique Japanese bowl in a sugi-nari shape, dating from the 19th century. Its blue and white decoration, painted with a fluid hand, reveals the delicate character of early Japanese ceramics: a free, almost calligraphic gesture on a luminous, subtly irregular surface.
Once broken, the bowl has been restored using the traditional art of kintsugi, with genuine 24k gold. The fractures are not concealed; they enter into dialogue with the decoration, emphasizing the curve of the bowl and transforming the accident into composition.
A unique piece, antique, vibrant, and deeply wabi-sabi.
