Monumental Porcelain Jar – 24 Carat Gold Kintsugi
At almost 40 cm in both height and width, this porcelain jar is an impressive piece. Its history, shaped by a firing accident, gives it a unique form and a resilient beauty.
A Story of Resilience
The piece’s collapse in the kiln created a major deformation at its neck and shoulders, causing severe breakages. Far from being a flaw, this imperfection became the starting point for a unique transformation.
Kintsugi, the Art of Repair
One and a half years were dedicated to restoring this jar using the traditional Kintsugi technique with 24 carat gold. Each fissure was sublimated, turning the marks of the past into radiant lines of light.
The result is a major work of art, both modern and timeless, where the restored breaks tell a story of resilience and beauty. The blue and white decoration depicts a scene of Chinese scholars, adding a touch of classicism to this exceptional piece.
