This pretty 15 cm-high vase comes from Japan.
Its shape is called “Gu”, which means “goblet”.
It is delicately decorated with violet flowers, representing shy, fragile love in the Japanese tradition.
Acquired broken and badly restored at auction, I repaired it using the art of traditional Kintsugi.
It dates from the late 19th or early 20th century.
