An antique ceramic vase, probably of Chinese origin, with a generous rounded body and a short neck. Its deep turquoise glaze reveals subtle variations of blue and green, together with a fine network of crackling that reflects the vessel’s age.
The exposed clay around the base and rim, the firing variations and the irregularities of the surface highlight its handcrafted character. A small geometric mark is visible on the lower part of the vase.
Its fractures have been restored using the traditional art of kintsugi, with natural Japanese urushi lacquer and pure 24-carat gold powder. The golden lines travel across the rounded form, standing out vividly against the turquoise glaze and creating a new composition that is both graphic and luminous.
A unique piece in which the marks of time become the precious elements of a new story.
