Antique celadon bowl, Tran Dynasty ( 1125- 1400)

This superb celadon bowl, 15cm in diameter and 3.5cm high, comes from Vietnam. It dates from the Tran dynasty, which reigned between 1225 and 1400.

This Vietnamese celadon stoneware is decorated with chrysanthemum flowers.

This flower represents autumn. The changing seasons are a major theme in tea ceremony ceramics.

Time has not spared it, and it had already undergone a previous restoration which had itself aged badly.

So I took this repair and transformed it into 24-carat gold kintsugi, restoring the beauty and use of this incredible antique!
