This Japanese stoneware chawan with translucent white glaze reveals the color of the clay. It was handcrafted in Kyoto by a potter who signed his piece with a stamp on the foot.
In Han tsutsu-gata form, it’s an ideal bowl for the tea ceremony.
Accidentally broken, I restored it using traditional Japanese lacquer, called Urushi, and 24-carat gold.
You can reuse this bowl to drink your favorite tea, or simply keep it as an object to admire.
Measuring 13 cm in diameter and 7 cm in height, it is truly unique.
