Pink Family Style Porcelain Ginger Jar, 19th Century, Restored with Traditional Kintsugi
Discover this rare and magnificent 19th-century Chinese ginger jar, crafted in the iconic Famille Rose style. Standing 20 cm tall and featuring a lacquered wooden lid, this piece was acquired at auction with an old, visible restoration.
I had the privilege of giving it a new life by entirely removing the previous repair and restoring it using the traditional Kintsugi technique. This Japanese method elevates fractures by repairing them with gold, transforming imperfections into assets and highlighting the unique history of the object.
This is an exceptional opportunity to acquire a piece that seamlessly blends the elegance of antique Chinese porcelain with the art and philosophy of Kintsugi.
