Kintsugi terrestrial Globe “J.Forest – 17 19 rue de Buci à Paris ” , circa 1900: A Unique Artwork, Restored Using the Ancient Kintsugi Technique.

This terrestrial globe, dating back to around 1900 and signed “J.Forest – 17 19 rue de Buci à Paris” is a true time capsule. Measuring approximately 15 cm in diameter, it features an antique world map delicately crafted on paper, plaster, cardboard, and gold.

As time has left its mark, this gem has been carefully restored using the Japanese Kintsugi technique.

This traditional method involves repairing broken objects with gold, transforming each crack into a signature of the object’s history.

This globe is presented on its original wooden stand inviting contemplation and reverie.
