Gohon style sugi-nari chawan, inspired by Korean Joseon dynasty ceramics
This chawan stands out with its simple yet refined aesthetic, highlighting the natural beauty of the clay and glaze.
The clay used is often light in color, ranging from creamy white to pinkish beige.
The glaze is the distinctive element of gohon chawans. It is generally thick and opaque, with an irregular surface and visible drips. The beauty lies in the simplicity of the form and the effects of the glaze.
Broken, I restored it in the traditional Japanese lacquer technique called Urushi, and 24-carat gold.
You can reuse this bowl to drink your favorite tea, or simply keep it as an object to admire.
It measures 14 cm in diameter and 8 cm in height, and it is truly unique.
