Experience the harmonious blend of Japanese tradition and Art Deco design.
This small flamed stoneware vase is signed Alphonse Mouton. Born into a family of potters in 1900, Alphonse Mouton worked in Saint-Vallier, in southeastern France, from the 1930s to the 1980s. He is particularly renowned for his distinctive use of enamels in colors ranging from dark blue to green and beige. His early works are reminiscent of the Art Deco period, with their geometric shapes and stylized motifs.
This 13cm-high piece bears the ALPHO signature under the foot, as well as the number 231.
