Description
This Sèvres porcelain plate comes from the service of the French Embassy in Chad.
The exquisitely delicate decoration demonstrates the expertise of the Sèvres manufactory.
The background is decorated with the coat of arms of the French Republic, while the marli features a flowery garland on a Sèvres blue background.
It dates from 1954, as the stamp on the reverse indicates.
Accidentally broken, I restored it using traditional Japanese lacquer, called Urushi, and 24-carat gold.
You can reuse it, or simply keep it as an object to admire.
It measures 22 cm in diameter.
